    Greetings from Switzerland

Hi there. I just found out about the forum because, like Birky I only knew about the US one up to now. I'm a Brit living in Switzerland, and I bought a new Tuono 1100 Factory in March 2016. I've always hankered after these bikes, and I was finally swayed by the offer of a MotoGP VIP paddock pass, plus the sound it made when they started it up. The decision was right though because it's clearly the most brilliant bike I've ever had. I'm waiting out the winter to start again riding some of the amazing mountain roads that are few minutes away from my garage door!
    Thanks from csirkefoga and ampj8

Hi csirkefoga and greetings to you too! Actually the distance to the Alps is pretty academic this time of the year. Right now I'm just doing my little winter projects and waiting for the riding season.

Welcome Murgy, great choice of bike. Please post some picture of the Alps when you make it up there. I can only imagine how much fun that would be....

Greeting from Hong Kong. I grew up near Basel (and the Alsace for that matter) and can guarantee that you will enjoy the Swiss twisties and Alpine wonders aboard the mighty T.
Ride safe and let us know how how it goes!

And yes! Welcome to the forum and the family!

    Hi murgy,

I've just ordered a new 2018 1100 factory and have booked to take it to Switzerland in June.
I've ordered the akrapovic slip on but was wondering if I will get pulled by the police because of noise? Should I put the standard exhaust back on for the trip?
I'm staying with my sister in Lugano so may choose to ride the Italian side of the alps if the police are anti V4?
Any recommendations? Gotthard, Sussten or Stelvio pass's? Or all 3 ?

Which slip on? There is now one made full titanium comes with valve and catalyst so that you can run anywhere without issues.
If you run the racing one I would say you need to be very unlucky or you are attracting too much attention because of your riding, so you can be caught (bearing in mind that you have no Swiss license plate).

Ex. We had this Royal Jordanian with a s1000r and a extremely open exhaust short and no cat passing through video evidence and all but.... he was not caught.

Recommend all those passes! You do them in one day if you want ok stelvio apart on a separate if you want.
Sussten is my preferred one due to surface orientation south and the turns.

    Hi Silvaspeeder,

I have an Akra too but I assume it's road legal as it came from the dealer. There's been a lot of publicity about noisy bikes in the passes here but I think they're mostly Harleys with no baffles - and who probably never get out of first gear. You'd be pretty unlucky to be stopped for that, but there are plenty of speed cameras. I agree with ampj8 about the passes - the Sustenpass is my favourite, the Stelvio is over-rated but the Gotthard is nice too. Let me know when you get here!
