    Hose clips - replacement of

Awright loons....ma T started tae bleed lovely pink juice awe doon the right hand side the day so ah decided tae sort oot the pish Aprilia hose clips once and for all before one went ping for real. So heres a wee set o piccies "how to do".
Simple 1/2 hour jobbie an nae need tae drain anything or disturb the hoses. Its taken longer tae dae this thread!

So whits the problem? Ahl tell ye. Shite lightweight hose clips that have no adjustment so you can tighten them up if they start weeping a bit...or that kin just randomly snap fur nae reason other than tae annoy ye!

    The offendin pish product

The solution? Ye will need some o these...25mm-45 (32mm) STAINLESS STEEL Jubillee hose clips (other equally premier brands are available of course). 7 pieces rqd. 5 are a piece o piss to do an 2 involve a wee bitty mair effort. Tools are 4mm allen key, 12mm spanner and a screwdriver tae suit the clips.

See the difference in quality, width and strength...

Startin oan the right hand side. First of all prise aff the originals by stick a screw driver in the gap here, the clip should spring apart. WATCH FOR THE SCREWDRIVER SLIPPIN THO AND SCRATCHIN YER PAINT WORK!

Select yer shiny new S/S Jubilee clip and totally unscrew it, open it enough to then slip it over the pipe work and offer it up tae the hose. Re-insert end and screw it up in position. NOTE FIT IT THIS WAY ROOND SO THE SCREW HEAD IS ON THIS SIDE FOR EASY ACCESS.

Repeat fur awe the other clips, 3oof in total, an Bobs yer Aunty, job done oan the right hand side.

Easy so far, yes? So oan tae the left hand side. Nae quite as simple! The two at the radiator are easy enough but there one behind the oil tank and another in under the tank/frame.

So as on the right side prise off the originals and fit the rad two..

Theres one behind the oil tank tae dae next.

Remove the side fairing bitties and oil tank cover. Undo the top tank mounting bolt and loosen of the lower ones quite a bit Theres one at the front below oil cooler rad and one held by the belly pan point.

You need to take the 4mm allen screw oot then use a 12mm spanner tae loosen off the spacer bar which acts a the lower tank mount bolt. When ye have the tank loose pull t back a bit from the bike tae gie better access. This is a good time tae check the condition of the tank as they rust like buggery wi road salt, particualrly oan the inner side as its exposed frae under the engine tae the road. Give a wee paint touch up ( i did) Also check the steel pipe where its close tae the oiltank as it can rub (particularly if ye have R&G bungs which needs a spacer added tae the top oil tank mount causin it tae be even closer)

Again uncrew yer clip and pass it over the pipe work, re-enter the end and screw up a bitty then locate over the hose end. Its a bit of a wiggle and ficker tae get it in place but it fits nae bother once in place. Note access tae screw head is better if ye fit it wi the clip wi the screw bit upwards. Tighten up and refit awe the oil tank mounts and side plastics etc.

That just leaves the one on the other end of the one you have just done. This located under the tank/frame. This will be tackled at weekend when ah plan to do oil/filter/plugs change.

    Watch this space loons......

Thanks for the guide Rico, I no longer have an excuse to put this off, I hadn't expected it to be so straightforward so had been pretending mine doesn't leak a little bit every so often !

@rico, cheers for the pictorial, i've just done all my hose's today as i had two leaking hose joints, i also managed to change the clip behind the oil canister without removing anything, i replaced my hose clips with jubilee clips that have the same band size as the original clips, eg: 9mm band with 20>32mm diameter, they work a treat, link below for anyone interested.
