    Yes it won't start AGAIN!!

    Hi all,

Sooo went out on the T on Xmas day, after i fitted the renegade airbox and Dr Rossi chip, had some awesome fun. Came back into town stopped at a mates house then left an went home with no problems.

Got the bike out yesterday, tryed to start it and it wudnt go. Turns over fine just won't fire.

This has happened a few times now and it's really starting to piss me off.

I removed all of the spark plugs, to find the ends were wet, so i left them out a while for the fuel in the cylinders to evaporate away. Havn't tryed starting it again, as i've realised if i leave it alone for a week it'll start up.

Anybody got any idea's why i put it in the garage when its working perfectly then go to it the next day and it just won't start? It's been on an optimate as well. So battery is in strong condition, also got the 150amp starter solenoid on there.

Is the bike over fueling itself? Should i get the throttle bodies looked at?

    Cheers
    Rob

Whats your starting routine? You are not twisting the throttle are you? That will flood it for sure.
Also, you need to clean the plugs with a small wire brush before refitting them.(or fit new ones)Optimates are not the best chargers in the world,so double check the battery output with a multimeter across the terminals.Dont rely on the voltmeter in the clocks,....its a lying bastard.

Starting routine is normally, turn key on, let fuel pump & clocks do there stuff, turn choke either half on or full on, hit the starter button. Normally fires within the first few seconds.

Got a voltmeter and all is good.

Have you tried laying the plugs across the head and watching if they spark?
Also read one of your old posts about the bike not starting when wet.Could be water tracking across one of the switches,...i.e handlebar stop switch or sidestand switch.Give 'em a clean with some good contact cleaner.

The Sparks work fine they all spark well enough.

I'll be in the garage again tonight taking the handlebar switches apart and going through the electrical connectors again with silicone spray.

    Good luck Blue rob,
A couple of years ago I was pulling my hair out trying to get my sons Husaberg going right.

I tried absolutely everything, from mechanical (piston rings, valves & valve timing, compression) to carb (new jets, another carb etc) to ignition (plug, coil, leads, 4 different stators - 3 of which were either overhauled or brand new).

In the end I took everything that it could possibly be off the bike & sent it to someone who had a good working bike.

He swapped bits over, a piece at a time, until he found the offending item.

Problem turned out to be faulty stators for the ignition - two of which the same guy had sold me as good overhauled parts.

Moral of the story - dont give up because its likely to be something that you may have already looked at.

Or then again, it might not.

Right had the bike in pieces again last night, spent about 5 hours taking bits off and cleaning and lubing everything i could find.

Didn't try and start it though as it was 11 at night and don't think neighbors would have been to happy. Hopefully it'll work.
