volt regulator,2nd hand and not sure if its working or not, check ohms across stator plate all the same and even, replaced battery as well, just checking on hear to see if anyone has anything elase that might help me sort it out
    Cheers

Don't understand much of your post, but here goes.....GenI or GenII?

If it's a GenII, check the voltage across the battery ...should be about 14v 'ish' at 2000 rpm's
If not, unplug brown connector (behind water coolant tank) , set meter to a/c, and check across yellows....i.e. y1 to y2, y1 you y3 etc....you're looking for ablout 60v a/c across all three. if lower than this, then it's new stator time I'm afraid.

Not too sure about GenI....I think it's more or less the same though.

OK, start by testing the voltage across the battery with the motor running.

Tested the battery, running around 12.5 volt on tick over, also put new battery in,the same, dips a tad when upping the throttle, more juice needed, checked the fuses, changed them for new ones, clean the terminals for the starter sel, checked the ohms out of the stator plate, they were all the same power, then checked the same wires at the volt regulator, pretty much all even there,so no wire break, waiting on new volt reg to come cause I ain't buying a 2nd hand one.so hopefully this don't end my new love affair with Aprilia,my 2nd tuono and I love them, super bike, and cheers

Don't worry too much about the resistance of the stator coils (I KNOW it's a good place to start) but check out the a/c voltage.
You should be getting iro 60v a/c across all three wires that come from the stator.

So do I have the bike running to check this or just discon brown wire and and do I disconnect the stator plate or leave it connected, you said check y1,y2,y3,do I earth the meter out or check it the same way ,like y1-y2,y1-y3,t2-y3,or can I check it at the volt reg side, easier access to the yellow wire, cheers lad,and another question, will a 2000 stator plate be the same, mines 2003,cheers

Yes,2000 stator is the same as 2003.
Check the output voltage of the stator across the yellow wires, not to earth,...so,y1-y2,y2-y3,etc.Rev the bike to 4000rpm,...you should get around 60v ac.

Try changing the solenoid and go for a 150amp one, my 02 racing wouldn't start a while back and this sorted it.

Do you mean the brown CONNECTOR?
Check the connector and make sure its not burnt out.Follow the cables out of the alternator casing and you should find it tucked in the Vee of the engine. If its not there, someone has probably cut it out and fitted through crimps.
Yes you can get the stator rewound, but also Wemoto do a pattern stator for 114.

Well I should'nt blatantly plug, but If you need a stator I have Gen1 and Gen2 Stators here in excellent used condition. I can't believe this is my first post here.

Yeah I remember. You had the ZX12R and went away with Damian and David? Do you still go over to FOC-U? Quite a few of us ended up on the sensible, respectable Tuonos after those unrefined, hooligan Fazers. GrahamCoxon, TheMaleWhale, DevilsYam, Nooj etc

I have the gen 2 stator on eBay now, but if you need it, then you can have it cheaper privately.

Well heres an update, tuono stillmnot charging, now im really at a lose,
    Ive replaced battery
    Replaced the reg/rec module
And replaced the stator/generator as well,
By passed the loom from the stator to the reg, still same, checked fuses and relay and all wires in behind clocks and as much off wiring loom i could,
    Check starter wires too
Still getting no more than12-5 volts on the battery, and less on the rev up,regulator goes warm under tick over as i think they are meant to,so has anyone got any ideas on this cheers

And thanks to. www.electrexworld.co.uk For there help

Is the stator pushing out A/C ? you need to check the output if your getting voltage ,then its likely to be a break in the circuit some where to the r/r or to the battery

Right,i got it sorted, checked all the wires again and cleaned all the earths again and it turned out that the earth wire from the frame on the right hand side to the engine was broke but because the the outer plastic was so strong it was hard to find,so its had a new Stattor,reg/recifer and a new battery, completely striped down and now to be rebuilt,so a lesson learn,do the wires first, but i wanna thank everyone for there input and help, cheers all
