    Smile Finally got it.

After a few hassles along the way, I picked up the new Factory this evening.

It is now sat in the garage next to Liz's 07 R model, looking very shiney & new.

For those that read my RANT thread, the shop owner rang me this morning and apologised for the cock ups. They fitted a full set of R&G's & an evotech tail tidy I had ordered FOC by way of a sweetener.

The bike now has a wopping 37 miles on the clock & was reminded of just how cold riding a bike on a November evening can be.

    Roll on spring.

    Congrats on the new ride.
Buying a new bike is something I doubt I will ever do again.

Nice one Paul. I should have mine sat in the garage again soon. It's back at Premier and the mechanic has already stripped the engine but I haven't had confirmation of what caused the problem only that he was pretty sure it wasn't the crank.

I'll give you a call when I have more information....

How many times can you polish it before spring?

Not many - I don't really get off on cleaning bikes.

I've got a few bits and pieces to fit, MPL clutch slave, Pazzo levers, Gilles chain adjusters from the Tuoldo. I need to sort the Autocom out, Liz & I use radios when we are out together, chain oiler to fit. I am waiting for an Ermax screen to turn up, and I have a Garmin Zumo GPS that we use on the European jollies, got to find somewhere for that to live.

Cans etc will go on once it's done it's 1000 km and goes in for its first service, map change etc.

Invite weeksy over. He'll show you how to be completely anal about polishing and cleaning. (And you might get a free detailing out of him whilst he loses control and removes the swingarm to make sure that the inner workings are polished to the point of being able to see yourself in the aluminum. heh.)

Just back out of the garage, spent a couple of hours tinkering.

Fitted the AF1 link plates to the rear shock/swing arm. I was given a rather agricultural looking, but otherwise efficient bike lift by a mate when he retired and fooked off to live on his yacht. (lucky bastard ). He used to have classic bikes - Vincent, Velocette, Triumph, Beeza etc. With the lift and an Abba stand (and a makita battery charger to chock the rear wheel to the correct height ) a one man job. Last time I did Liz's on a pair of paddock stands & a jack, bike nearly fell on me, mucho hassle.

Put the Gilles chain adjusters on, they are red - which looked fine on the Tuoldo - I am not sure they look OK or if it's a bit naff. You know like purple headed bolts etc. - well not quite that bad.

Put the Pazzo's on - wanted to get that done quick, that little 1.5mm grub screw in the clutch lever is a bastard after even a few months. I had to drill the one on the Tuoldo out on a pedestal drill & re thread it.

Still leaves the clutch slave cylinder to swap over, but this bike's clutch feels lighter than Liz's (with an MPL slave already) I wonder if Rotax have updated the clutch on these engines?

Last little job was the charger lead for the battery tender, I will sort the dash out next spring.

Damn I wish that I had a heated garage in which to play. Leaving her indoors behind...
